The Limpopo Dairy Farm

Nature produces the best products and therefore nothing artificial is allowed or needed when we farm. Everything is done right out of our soil when it comes to feeding and keeping our farm sustainable. A portion of the animal feed is grown and harvested from our soil. Our farm is laid out with underground tunnels that is used to transfer fresh product from the parlor to the production factory where the product is processed and bottled.

The most important factor about dairy is that it is safe, nutritious and of highest quality. Our focus is to maintain a good standard of farming processes that are economically, socially and environmentally sustainable. This benefits not only the dairy, but the people and our country. Sustainable agriculture is progress with respect to four goals, among which is increasing the quality of for the farm, the farmers and farm workers.

Another advantage that sets Limpopo Dairy apart from others is our animals, over the years and years the Limpopo Dairy farmers mastered the genetic pacts of animals and therefore they product high quality milk for our superior products. We have the most advanced and latest technology at our disposal, and our custom made milking parlor was designed and built on the farm to ensure maximum product at minimum impact of our 1300 cows. Apart from the dairy cows, we also nurture, take care and grow our unique goats.

Our Cattle Herd

On the farm we have around 1800 dairy animals.

On average we have 800 of these cows milked 3 times a day in different groups and this gives us over 30 000 Litres of milk per day. Our dairy cattle feed on a total mixed ration feeding system that ensures the quality of produce but most importantly, the health of our animals. They consume over 1600 tons of feed per month filled with all the right minerals and concentrates.

Our Goat Herd

Nothing is as interesting and more fascinating than the goat and what it produce.

Our goat dairy was founded in the 1990’s and has brought us so much pride and awards. They are milked twice a day and also separated by bread types, as this plays a big role in the content and value of the milk produced. As goats are very prone to be affected by changing conditions, they are checked and given that extra love each and everyday.

A Limpopo Dairy we pride ourselves in our all round “seed to shelf” approach that sets us apart from others in our field. From preparing the lands, planting crops to make our own feed, taking care of our animals from birth, production of the products as well as packaging and distributing to our happy customers.
